San Francisco, CA: The San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) approved a $31.9 million contract at its meeting this week to Steve P. Rados, Inc. (SPR) to install a new seismically-designed fourth siphon to help transport drinking water for the Hetch Hetchy regional water system.

SPR, a California-based heavy engineering construction company, has an 85 year history as General Contractors. In 2008, the Sacramento Chapter of American Public Works Association recognized the company in it's Environmental Category for a Project of the Year Award. For the Siphon's project, SPR will be working with Brown Sheet Metal, Frank Olsen, SD Electric and D&S Trucking-SFPUC certified regional Local Business Enterprises.
